<B>A NEOCLASSICAL FIGURAL AMERICAN SILVER FRUIT STAND</B></I>Mark of Gorham, Providence, Rhode Island, 1874<BR><BR>This parcel gilt multi-piece construction fruit stand with a round spreading foot and removable cast garlands, the lower bowl with cast and applied threaded band, heavy cast handles with papyrus decoration, the central column with two applied leafy branches tied with bows at their base, upper bowl with applied threaded band, the upper column with a large partially nude Bacchante holding a wine glass, adorning her head a crown of grapes, leaves and vines, disassembles to approximately eight main pieces for cleaning, this rare monumental centerpiece accompanied by a Gorham archival report prepared by Samuel Hough, <I>marked various places</B></I><BR>22in. high, 19in. across at the handles, 115oz according to factory records <BR><BR><B>Important notice:</B> Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour.
