A NAMEPLATE PLAQUE. “NEW LANARK CONSERVATION”. As carried by the British Railways Class 60 CoCo 3100 H.P. diesel electric 60047 “ROBERT OWEN” that emerged to traffic on 4th April 1991. It was named from new after the philanthropist and mill owner (1771-1858) who developed the New Lanark cotton mills. This plaque was unveiled on 14th May 1992 at Lanark station by Sally Bell, a competition winner. The nameplates and plaques were removed in January 1997. Rectangular cast aluminium, 11¾”x10¾”, in ex-loco condition. The plaque is accompanied by its original Langdale sales receipt and Certificate of Authenticity.
