A MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD, IN THE MANNER OF THOMAS HOPE, EARLY 19th CENTURY, ALMOST CERTAINLY IRISH, the centre section with ropetwist rim, a central frieze drawer with outset tablet carved with Venus and Cupid, within reeded panels and flanked by bowed drawers with similar panels, supported on reeded incurved legs headed by lion masks and on large claw feet, with outset stepped pedestals fitted with deep drawers above tapering reeded doors with lion masks, the whole with a ropetwist backboard in geometric design
