$ 850,000 - 1,000,000
This oval shaped diamond of 26.12 carats is an important example of a fancy light pink gem. Pink diamonds have for hundreds of years been considered commercially rare, greatly admired and therefore highly sought after.
In the 17th century the great gem dealer and author Jean Baptiste Tavernier wrote in his book Les Six Voyages about two important pale rose tinted colored diamonds that he had purchased in India circa 1668, thus illustrating that this hue of colored diamond was rarely encountered.
This gem which combines large size, high purity and beautiful proportions, possesses
a subtle but distinct rose color. It is truly a desirable and rare diamond.
