AN EARLY VICTORIAN MAHOGANY WHEEL OR "BANJO" BAROMETER, having a replacement swan-neck pediment with brass urn finial, hygrometer, alcohol thermometer, convex mirror in reeded surround, and spirit level with maker's name, the 25cm, (10in) silvered dial within convex glass and brass bezel, 108cm, (42.5in) high *** Dominic Luvate or Luvatte, maker/retailer of looking glasses, is recorded in 1828 at 43 Friargate, Preston and in 1834 at 27 Friargate - presumably a relative?
