A LOT OF THREE EARLY RANDALL KNIVES
A LOT OF THREE EARLY RANDALL KNIVES. (1) Scarce model 1 fighting knife with 8-1/8" blade that has 6" back grind with dbl brass hand guard and right hand, finger groove, stag handle without pommel cap. It has two wide and two narrow red spacers, two narrow white spacers and one wide black spacer at the hand guard. It is accompanied by its orig, very early sheath with light tan buttons on the strap and stone pocket and has the Randall mark on the back. CONDITION: Blade has electric pencil initials "LJB" on the left ricasso and on the right side. Otherwise the blade is fine with light sharpening marks and retains 30-40% orig polish with some light surface discoloration. Handle is fine with a beautiful age patina. Sheath is moderately soiled with a few nicks and scratches and some verdigris around one of the snaps. (2) Model 4 with 7" curved blade, German silver single drop hand guard and right hand finger groove stag handle without pommel cap. It has two wide and two narrow red spacers, two narrow white spacers and one thick black spacer at the hand guard. It is accompanied by its orig leather sheath with tan colored buttons on the strap and stone pocket and has the makers name on the back. CONDITION: Very fine. Blade is lightly sharpened and retains about 50% orig polish. Handle is fine with a mellow aged patina. Sheath shows heavy wear and soil, missing the stone. (3) Model 18 with 5-1/2" spear point sawback blade, thick dbl side brass hand guard with thong holes. It has a smooth rnd stainless steel handle with a rubber walking cane tip over the end. Consignor states the tip was on it when he purchased it from the Viet Nam veteran many years ago and is now frozen in place and not removable. Accompanied by its orig riveted leather sheath with stone pouch and tie down at the tip with lace holes and the Randall name on the belt loop. CONDITION: Very fine. Retains most of its orig polish on the blade and handle. It is unknown if thescrewcap is present under the rubber tip. Sheath is also very fine with some verdigris around the copper rivets. 4-57938 JR295
