A LNER (GNR pattern) 4-aspect HANDLAMP. The body, clearly stamped “LNER”, bears a brass plate lettered “London & North Eastern Railway FIRSBY”. A fore-and-aft vessel; BR brass/ceramic burner; reflector and all glasses. In very good, original condition. Firsby was a GNR station on the Boston-Louth line, junction for the Skegness Branch. It opened as “Firstby” in 1848; was renamed “Firsby” later and finally closed in 1970.
