Marked Herculaneum and Wedgwood, late 18th / early 19th c.
Various forms including a large ovoid platter, two deep oval serving bowls, a montieth, chop plate, seven shaped serving dishes, a soup plate, five plates of varying sizes, two covered sauce boats, and extra covers, most decorated in a brown sprig pattern, others in leafy vine or grape leaf pattern. Old repairs, imperfections.
PROVENANCE:
Possibly used at Wakefield, the Fisher family home in Germantown. Wakefield was built by Thomas Fisher in 1799, on property inherited by Fisher's first wife Sarah Logan. The Fishers and thier descendants occupied the home until the 1970s.
