A finely crafted Korean high-grade silver (85–90% silver purity), polychrome enamel vase of baluster form, decorated with delicate enamel work. The vase features a rounded body on a circular foot, tapering to a flared neck with an engraved key-fret (meander) band. On the shoulders, a pair of applied stylized animal or dragon-head handles hold loose rings. The body is decorated with engraved floral and butterfly motifs, some delicately picked out in vivid polychrome enamel yellow, purple, turquoise, and green, highlighting select flowers and butterflies. This vase reflects the influence of late Joseon dynasty decorative arts, where metalwork with delicate floral engraving and occasional enamel highlights was produced both for local use and as diplomatic or trade gifts, blending Korean craftsmanship with East Asian decorative themes.Weight: 39.2 oz., (1110 g.)Please make all inquiries before bidding. All lots are sold "as-is", refer to our T&C.Helios Auctions does not ship in-house. A list of recommended shippers will be provided.

H: 16 in., (40.8 cm.)

The silver surface shows light tarnish and minor oxidation, typical for age, especially around the engraved areas, near the handles, and the neck. There are minor surface scratches and small nicks, particularly on the high points, from handling and polishing over time. No visible major dents, splits, or repairs. The polychrome enamel highlights on the flowers and butterflies appear largely intact, with good color retention.
