<B>A KIOWA BEADED HIDE AWL CASE<BR></B></I><BR>c.1880 <BR>coiled with beadwork in numerous shades of opaque and translucent beads, decorated with a “flame” pattern, trimmed with long hide fringe wrapped with German silver and metal cones, the suspension strap with bone hairpipes and red glass beads <BR><I><BR>Length: 22 ½ inches overall<BR><BR></B></I> <B>Condition Report:</B> In overall very good condition. Hide with usual wear, including moderate soiling. Beading extant and bright. Some movement, possibly a separation of wood, in main body of ornament approx. 2-1/8” from bottom bead. Metal cones extant. Metal tubular beads extant. Top: two bone beads in excellent condition. Three round red beads in excellent condition.
