A Journal of the Honorable House of Represent.
A Journal of the Honorable House of Representatives. At a Great and General Court or Assembly for the Colony of Massachusetts-Bay in New England. March 13 to May 10, 1776 (Boston: Edes and Gill, 1776), first edition, 277 pages, untrimmed buckram, re-bound in leather (1969) with gold lettering and decorations, folio (9” x 14.75”). This rare volume documents the affairs of the Massachusetts Bay House of Representatives-including petitions, speeches, and reports on Indian activities-during a period in which Revolutionary goings-on continued to escalate throughout Boston. Among the more famous names is Paul Revere, mentioned on pages 105 and 275. There are extensive later notes written (in pencil) on the front endpapers, as well as handwritten notes (on legal-pad-size paper) inserted into (but not attached to) the book. The paper is in overall good condition with darkening and some foxing due to its age. The binding is in very good condition with only minor wear along the spine.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
