A Josef Hoffman "Purkesdorf" armchair, designed for the Purkesdorf Sanatorium in 1903, the frame of wooden laths painted with a white, high gloss finish, black and white seat and loose cushion, manufactured by Wittmann, Austria (metal label underneath)
Footnote:- This armchair was purchased from Liberty's, Regent Street from their "Vienna Seccession" exhibition in 1988. The Josef Hoffman Foundation has granted Franz Wittman Mobelwerks-tatten the sole right to recreate this chair and others from the collection. See Illustration £800-1000
