(Hughes, 1943) A large publicity photo print of Jane Russell in “The Outlaw,” directed by Howard Hughes. The film drew the ire of the Hollywood Production Code Administration due to the prominence of Russell’s breasts. Hughes invented a new bra for Russell to use in the film to accentuate her assets. She refused to wear it, padding her own bra instead for a similar effect. Hughes leaned into the public outcry about Russell’s figure to drive up interest in the film, with this particular publicity still becoming quite notorious. Measuring 29.5” x 39.5”, the glossy print mounted on illustration board displays in very good condition with light wear, smudges, and a stain near the top left corner. This item requires special shipping arrangements. Please inquire before bidding.
