<B>Andrew Jackson: A Rare Sixteenth Plate Daguerreotype Image</B></I>. This is an image of Jackson shortly before his death in 1845. However, this copy image is part of a set which also included Zachary Taylor, Lewis Cass, and Henry Clay, which were commercially sold, presumably in conjunction with the 1848 election campaign. The most desirable are those of active candidates, with a sales record for the Cass of well over $10,000.<BR><BR>Condition of the present example is good overall, with some light speckling, and dark discoloration along the edge from 9:30 - 12:00. The original leatherette case is excellent except the lid is cleanly separated at the spine.
