*** John Thomas Morton (born 1875) worked for J W Senior at the Leeds Art Pottery from 1888, briefly at Hunslet in 1907, and established a workshop at Harehills, Leeds where he worked with his son until circa 1914. In 1933 he built a workshop at Filey, Yorkshire, where copies were made of earlier cream and agate wares. His pottery closed during World War II and reopened briefly afterwards. In 1947 he moved to Burniston near Scarborough where he worked until the 1950's (references: Godden 1964, and Lawrence)
