A.J. RUSSELL SALT PRINT OF CIVIL WAR LOCOMOTIVE. A.J. Russell (1830-1902). Salted paper photograph, 16.25 x 12" mounted on larger, thin paper board. A portrait of the J.H. Devereaux, proably taken at the Alexandria, Virginia yards of the USMRR. Devereux was superintendent of the Military Rail Roads, and a fine portrait of him on the pressure dome. A stunning image. Image with a vertical mounting "crease" and a repaired mounting tear immediately to the right of the smokestack.
