Offered in this lot we have a first edition copy of "A History of the American Fur Trade of the Far West" volumes I & II by Hiram Martin Chittenden. The book originates from the 1954 and is Academic Reprints. Hiram Martin Chittenden (1858-1917) was a civil engineer and leading historian of the American West. The volumes detail the American fur trade from the west and the history of pioneer trading posts, early fur companies, and fur overland commerce. The books show black and white maps and illustrations throughout. The pieces show good condition overall with some light wear. The books measure8 1/2" tall by 5 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" thick.
