A Highland/Sutherland & Caithness Railway 3-aspect HANDLAMP. The body, stamped “H Ry”, bears a large brass plate stamped “S & C. SEC. 40”. The reducing-cone and the original rape-oil vessel are also stamped “H Ry”. Complete and in very fine, original condition. A rare opportunity. Note The Sutherland & Caithness Railway opened in 1874 to operate the line from Helmsdale to Wick and Thurso. It was worked by the Highland Railway and vested in it in 1884.
