In fact, it is one of the largest complete mammoth tusks ever discovered. Measuring an impressive 13 feet, 4 inches in length along the outside curves, this enormous tusk displays a strong double curve typical for the species. It was found in only 2 pieces and has been professionally restored with only minor restoration to its base. The tip and root cavity are completely natural and well-preserved. The entire tusk has been polished to reveal details such as growth rings and rich surface patina, which include rich colors of creams and browns along with some scattered hints of blue.
Woolly mammoths are an extinct species of elephant that ranged throughout most of Eurasia and North America during the last ice age. Our ancestors haunted mammoths as an important food source, and scientist believe that their extinction may have been the result of this activity.

Shipping: Requires 3rd Party Shipping (view shipping information)
