A Great Eastern Railway small brass Vesta match- case. Atop the lid is a yellow label displaying the full Company title coloured crest and “Refreshment Department”. Inside the lid is another label lettered black on cream “The Coffee Room of the LONDON HOTEL is open to non-residents. Table D’Hote three times daily. H.C. Amendt, Manager”. 1¾”x1¼”x½”. In good, original condition. The Great Eastern Hotel, Liverpool Street, was opened in 1884, extended in 1901 and let in 1984. Still open.
