A Great Central Railway silver-plated heart shape two-compartment double-skinned serving tureen (to allow hot water to keep the tureen warm). By Walker & Hall. The side clearly displays the full Forward crest and "Dewsbury" scroll. Overall 11"x11"x3" high. In very good, original condition. Note The GCR steamer "Dewsbury" was built in 1910 by Earles of Hull. It was a passenger and cargo coaster of 1600 tons with triple-expansion engines. It operated the Hull-Zeebrugge service, became a rescue ship during the Second World War, was transferred to the Harwich-Zeebrugge service in 1946, and was scrapped in Holland in February 1959.
