A (Glasgow & South Western Railway) presentation silver-plated salver, on three acanthus leaf feet. The entire top surface and the rim are decorated and the centre is engraved “Presented To James McNaughton Esq. Railway Contractor Auchinleck By A Number of Friends As A Mark of Esteem Cumnock 12th October 1849. 14½” diameter. VGC. Quite superb, and early.
