A George III oak longcase clock having an arched hood above the glazed door enclosing the 12ins. arched brass dial with eight day striking movement with date aperture and subsidiary second hand, inscribed to the arch "Hugh Gordon, Aberdeen" having urn and bird spandrels and with mythical sea creatures to the arch in turn above the arched trunk door and conforming base with plinth beneath. Height 80ins. (see illustration)
