A George III oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock, the hood having a moulded cornice above the glazed door enclosing the 11.5ins. brass dial with thirty hour movement by Wilkinson of Wigton with cherub spandrels, foliate engraved centre with date aperture and with Roman numerals and subsidiary Arabic numerals to the chapter ring and flanked on either side by simple turned columns in turn above a mahogany banded collar and shaped crossbanded trunk door flanked by fluted quarter column corners and with conforming crossbanded base with canted corners and plinth moulding below. Height 82ins. (see illustration)
