A George III Chippendale period mahogany square washstand, the well figured top with moulded edge hinging to left and right and opening to an interior fitted for a basin and other accessories, the front having a rectangular cupboard door with brass drop handle and applied geometric moulding opening to cupboard space and with a short drawer beneath with brass drop handle standing on chamfered legs of square section united by a raised centre shelf with applied circular moulding. Height 36ins., width 17ins., depth 19ins. (see illustration)
