The walrus grips with large ears, the broad, single-edged recurved blade struck with a maker?s name, WORK OF ABDALLAH. The wooden scabbard covered with blue velvet, the silver mounts embossed and engraved in vine motifs, while the Greek double-headed eagleand a cross figure prominently on the locket. Silver inlaid decoration to the blade includes vinework, the name of a later owner and a date, 1294 (1877 c.e.) First quarter of the 19th century.Stable crack to grip, inlay worn, light pitting. Overall length 76 cm.
