A GILDED SMALLSWORD WITH SCABBARD, 19TH CEN. ÉPÉE DE COUR
A smallsword in typical 18th-century style with rounded pommel and clamshell guard, probably manufactured in the 19th century. The metal fixtures are all of bronze, including a wrapped bronze chain for the grip. The tapered blade has a long narrow fuller on each side, the fullers being vibrantly gilded. The first inch of the blade is gilded as well.

L: 40 in., (101.5 cm.)

Very good overall. Light oxidization on some of the bronze fittings. The leather of the scabbard is a later restoration. All pieces are tight.
