A GEORGE III OAK-CASED 8-DAY LONG CASE CLOCK having a truncated swan- neck pediment with twin cast brass finials, each depicting a figure riding a mythical bird, the frieze with carved linen-fold swags, the arched door with integral fluted columns, the trunk with plain door, the base on bracket feet, the case later-carved, the hour-striking movement with backplate stamped BEILBY & HAWTHORN (Newcastle upon Tyne, 1790-1802), having an associated arched brass dial with engraved silvered 'Tempus Figit' boss between arch spandrels cast with sea creatures, above a silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes, framing subsidiary seconds and date dials, bearing inscription Est. £600/800
