<B>A French Louis XV Style Tortoiseshell and Gilt Bronze Bracket Clock</B></I><BR><BR>Unknown maker, France<BR>Mid Nineteenth Century<BR>Tortoiseshell, brass, gilt bronze, enamel and glass<BR>Unmarked<BR>45 in. high x 20.62 in. wide<BR><BR>The circular dial of foliate-cast gilt bronze with white enamel Roman and Arabic chapters, with enamelled Roman numerals, within a shaped red stained tortoiseshell case with scrolled brass inlay, the central glazed door with scrolling acanthus and floral mounts enclosing an inlaid brass interior, surmounted by a gilt bronze acanthus scroll, on scrolled acanthus feet and on a similarly inlaid and mounted bracket.
