A French Empire-style wall clock, the eight day two-train movement with anchor escapement and striking on a gong, the backplate inscribed Le Roi a Paris, the enamelled dial with Roman numerals and inscribed with maker's name, set within a rectangular giltwood and glazed frame 43cm x 35.5cm, the movement 18th century (enamel dial cracked)
Provenence; the present owners suggest that the clock came from Orleans House, Twickenham. The house was purchased with some of the contents by Sir William Cunard from the Duc d'Aumale, 5th son of King Louis-Phillippe and has been passed down through the family.
