A. Francotte model 18-E high grade double-barreled side by side shotgun in 12 gauge marked Von Lengerke and Detmold, New York, agents, serial number 29079. Showing 2 ¾ inch Belgian proofs on bottom of barrels. The gun shows a box lock action with Greener type cross bolt and Anson-Deeley type third fastener. The action is nicely floral scroll engraved and shows side clips on each side of action. The walnut stock shows fancy panels behind action and good checkering at wrist and forend. The barrel’s measure 30 inches in length and the gun is 46 ¼ inches over all. The right barrel is choked improved modified and left barrel is also improved modified. Double triggers, auto ejector’s and the stock measures 14 ¼ inches from the trigger to the end of the original plate and still full original dimensions. The barrels show 75% to 85% old re-blue with some aging and toning, beginning light rust over what appears to be a Damascus pattern. The action shows 50% to 70% drifting original case hardening and the stock is very good with some minor scratches, mars and dings. The gun locks tight and the barrels are bright inside with no problems. Est.: $2,500 to $5,000.
