A. Francotte, Belgium model 18E, 12 gauge side-by-side shotgun showing Von Lengerke and Detmold agents markings from prewar era, serial number 86322. The gun shows 28” barrels with double triggers, auto ejector’s, straight English style stock. The barrels show 80% to 90% original blue thinning at the edges with just some beginning normal age. The frame shows 60% to 80% case hardening drifting to gray at the edges with some very colorful rainbow hues. The frame is lightly engraved. The trigger guard shows 30% to 50% thinning original blue. The stocks are very good with some minor scratches and just normal use and aging with some slight darkening. There is a nice checkered panel behind the action on each side of the stock. The butt stock measures 14 ¾” to the end of the hard rubber recoil pad and 14 ¼” to the end of the wood. There is a 2 ¾” drop at the heel and a 1 ¾” drop at the comb with no cast. The gun locks tight and the bores and barrels are very good with no problems. A classic pre-war Francotte in nice condition. Est.: $1250-$2500
