A Finely Carved Mother-of-Pearl Shell, With a wide band carved with scholars, attendants and laborers, above scrolling foliage, the interior reserve carved with a gourd surrounded by flowering foliage, birds and butterflies. 19th Century, Width: 9 3/8 inches (23.8 cm) [Repair to back of the shell.
