South Coast Peru, Ca. 400 A.D. A beautifully made deep cup on rounded base with flared rim. An elaborate female painted and molded in relief on the body sitting crossed legged, her protruding face with slender pointed nose, large headress, hands in slight relief and she wears a brown tunic and leggings. The rest of the vessel is painted with reddish brown dots on a white ground. Superb example. 7-1/2"H. Intact and choice.
