lot of 7, all unused. All with Holladay Overland Mail and Express Company name and/or logo. Includes waybill; receipt slip with lovely lithograph of stage and four horses running flat out (and red disclaimer Dangers of War and Fire excepted); prepaid envelope; two payment slips, one printed in red for recording gold dust; and two deposit slips, one marked Special Deposit on end, with stub still attached, and the other marked Certificate of Deposit.

Ben Holladay took over the Butterfield Overland Mail Company in Feb. 1866 and called it the Holladay Overland Mail and Express Company. Only ten months later he sold the company to Wells, Fargo, and clearly had leftover stationery. By the time the Holladay Overland Mail and Express Company received its charter from Colorado, just months before its transfer to Wells, Fargo, it controlled over 3300 miles of stage lines.
