The polished horn grips with rolled pommel, the silver tangband and guard with borders richly chiseled in flowering vine motifs. With broad blade of typical form, displaying a skilfully-wrought and dramatic pattern-welded damask. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with wire-bound seam, the fine silver mounts with finely-chiseled borders en suite with the hilt, with areas of gilding intact. Latter 18th century.
