Of characteristic form, well carved of a single large section of pale jade and set with numerous cabochon rubies and a large faceted center stone, white sapphire or diamond. Each stone bordered in high-karat gold vinework, those at the center forming an eight-petaled flower. Mid-18th century. Archer's rings were worn on the thumb wherever the Mongolian release was used. Early on, elaborate examples wrought of the finest materials also became items of prestige amongst royalty and nobility and were worn at court throughout Asia and Near East. Overall length 4.7 cm.
