The select hardwood, perhaps Banati, hilt well-carved and polished, showing active grain throughout. The grip well-wrapped in blackened cord, the bifurcate pommel and broad crossguard lavishly overlaid with profiled silver plates, engraved in okir motifs overall, together with six silver American 10 centavo coins, each dated 1903. The long, single-edged blade expanding toward the profiled tip, showing layer-forged construction and a hardened edge. Late 19th-early 20th century. Minor replacements to silver, blade lightly pitted. Overall length 101.8 cm.
