The large Indian basket hilt with the long backspike designed for two-handed use. Elaborately profiled, pierce and chiseled, the grip with original woven wrap and padded velvet liner. The massive blade well-forged of actively-patterned wootz damascus steel , expanding continuously toward the tip, and terminating in a spatulate tip. Mounted to the hilt by an elaborately pierced and profiled seating process. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard bound with silver braid. Latter 17th century. Scabbard covering refreshed. Overall length 107.5 cm.
