A FINE EARLY GEORGIAN WALNUT BUREAU BOOKCASE OF SMALL PROPORTIONS, the upper stage having a humped surmount, the arched bevelled mirrored door with integral pilaster centred by a brass escutcheon, a matching pilaster beside the hinges, the door enclosing a central cupboard door with three inlaid drawers, flanked by sunken book 'pillars', with a long shelf and three compartments above, one either side, two large and six small compartments below, the lower stage having a crossgrain moulded top, the inlaid sloping front with brass escutcheon, enclosing a central cupboard flanked to each side by a sunken book "pillar", three pigeonholes with valances, two short Est. £4000/6000
