<B>Amelia Earhart: Signed First Edition of <I>20 Hrs. 40 min.: Our Flight in the Friendship</B></I>.</B></I> (New York & London: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1928), first edition, 314 pages, 61 illustrations, maroon cloth with gilt lettering on the spine and front board, 8vo (5.5" x 8.25"), clear mylar protective cover. Endpapers illustrated with manuscript facsimiles from Earhart's flight diary. Signed "<I>Amelia Earhart</B></I>" on the recto of the frontispiece. This is a handsome, signed, first edition copy of Earhart's first book, a mix of flight log entries from Earhart's first flight across the Atlantic and Earhart's personal biographical sketches of her childhood and early aviation experiences. The book is in about very good condition, with lightly bumped corners, two small spots of rubbing to the front board, not affecting the titling, and minimal edge and spine wear. The gilt titling on the spine shows some sunning. There is light thumb-soiling to the text edges, but the interior text is clean. Binding sound. Previous owner's signature on the half-title page. The book comes housed in a custom quarter leather slipcase with five raised bands & gilt titling on the spine and marbled boards.
