<B>A.</B></I> <B>E. van Vogt. Typescript for </B></I><B><I>Slan</B></I></B></I><B>.</B></I> 297 pages. 8.5 x 11 inches. Carbon copy. Several pages with hand corrections. Severe chipping to page edges due to the high acid content paper. Good condition.<BR><I><BR>Slan</B></I>, the author's first novel, was originally published as a four-part serial in <I>Astounding Science Fiction</B></I> in late 1940 but was later expanded to a full-length novel. Presumably this is the typescript for either the 1946 Arkham House limited edition, or the later (and final) Simon and Schuster 1951 edition. Accompanying the manuscript are two sets of typed editor's notes.
