A Derby cabinet plate, circa 1800, with circular gilt laurel border enclosing a brightly enamelled exotic bird within a landscape by Cuthbert Lawton, all within an acanthus gilt panelled fluted rim border, gilt cross batons mark and number 377, small hairline crack, diameter 23cm, 9 inches. See Illustration Footnote:- It is noted, pattern no 377 is missing from the Derby pattern books, Pattern 378 "Bird in Landskip Loton" is identical to this plate.
