A DUTCH BEAKER, 17th CENTURY, with flared rim and matted panels; a handle (now detached) applied later, 7.5cms high, on an ebony stand with a plaque inscribed, This cup is said to have been used by King William III at the Battle of the Boyne, July 1 1690, and further inscribed on an ivory plaque to the base,
This interesting piece of old silver was for two hundred years the property of an Orange family in Ulster and was presented to Francis Charles 3rd Earl of Kilmorey KP by John Quinn Henry, esq. J.P., both of the Kingdom of Mourne Feb 1909.
