(Disneyland, 1955) A collection of 19 very rare early photos of Fantasyland. Dated from June to September of 1955, these include pre-opening construction, and several of the Opening Day telecast including Walt Disney during the dress rehearsal and Ronald Reagan performing as an emcee. Later images show Milton Berle and Jerry Lewis visiting the Park, and a magician performing high above the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship restaurant. These 4" x 5" contact prints were made directly from Disneyland Publicity's original camera negatives. As many of Publicity’s negatives were later culled, some of these prints may be the best if not only surviving copies of these images. The 4" x 5" glossy contact prints are in very good condition, with light wear from handling.
