A Clarice Cliff house and bridge pattern octagonal fruit bowl having a red roofed cottage and smoking chimney with black roofed outbuildings and yellow and brown hills standing next to a large brown, red and orange leafed tree with black trunk above yellow, orange, red and black banding to the base and with similar banding decoration to the interior, with printed mark to the underside in black "Fantasque, hand painted Bizarre by Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery, England", incised number X9. Diameter 8.25ins. (see illustration)
