A. Chu Chu, 4-shot double-action pepperbox derringer, 5.5mm rimfire, or approx. .22 caliber. Nickel finish, hardrubber grips, serial #176. The pistol measures 5-1/2” overall with 2-1/4” barrel cluster. The pistol shows approx. 50-70% drifting nickel finish. The left side of frame shows patent marking and small cartouche and the pistol shows small Belgian proofs. The condition is good to very good with Belgian grips, the pistol is loaded by tipping the barrel forward and releasing a spring catch at top. A sharp’s type internal firing pin is retained and the pistol is fired double-action. Circa 1870’s to 80’s. A desirably oddity pistol with a folding trigger for concealment. Seldom seen.
