Archaic Chinese, Warring States Period (478-221 BC). A Ge or dagger ax, lightweight and slender with a profile similar to swords from the same period. It is also sharp. These dagger axes were attached to the ends of long wooden poles and presumably swung at opponents in battle. Custom mount. 8-5/8" W x 6-1/2" H, intact. Gorgeous patina!

Provenance: Ex-private TX collection.
