<B>A Chinese Carved Jade/Hardstone Recumbent Stag<BR></B></I>Twentieth Century<BR>2 x 4 inches (5.1 x 10.2 cm)<BR> <BR>Of light green coloration with brown and white inclusions, the Chinese mythical stag, symbolic of longevity and income, is said to turn white after 500 years. This characteristic is exploited by the carver's clever usage of the white inclusion on the hindquarters of the stag.
