palmwood (ilex), belt, fabric covering, height 84.5 cm, width 42 cm, depth 49 cm, height of seat 45 cm.
The wooden parts in excellent original condition.
The standard model of Italian folk art, which took its definite shape in 1790. Named after the centre of production, the village of Chiavari. This type of chair was also used in houses of the German nobility in the early 19th century.
